Heading for Portland

Thank you for your prayers!! God has been moving!!

Just wanted to give you an update on our journey to Oregon. We have been praying for several months with our church that gathers in our home on Friday nights about our move and house situation. It turns out that a couple in our church recently found out they were pregnant with their 2nd child and were in need of a larger home. Through a long series of circumstances and prayer, we discovered together that we could lease our home for this couple with an option to buy at a later time. Although we did not sell the house outright, Emily and I feel at peace with this decision as we will be able to bless this family we love dearly with a home to raise their family while they establish themselves and save up for a down payment. We are also blessed by them as they care for our home and assist us with our financial obligation on the house. The systems of the world would certainly not see this as ideal but to us we sense the Kingdom value that this has as we seek to follow Christ. To us, we see God accomplishing infinetely more than we (and the world's systems) would ever dare to ask or hope. He is teaching us much!

The movers are coming on the 27th of December and we will be heading out on our 4 day trek across the country on the 28th. Please pray for our safety and for good weather especially over the mountains. We will spend New Years with my family in Seattle and then head down to the Portland area on the 5th or 6th where we will stay with friends until our apartment becomes available on the 10th. We would like to get connected as soon as possible with a community of faith there possibly at the Hilltop or Southside gatherings. Perhaps God would even give us opportunities to cultivate relationships and plant a new church in our apartment complex!

We Made It!!

Hey everyone, Emily, the kids and I made it safely to Portland and are now settling into our new apartment. Life has been crazy this last week and slowly but surely our lives are starting to feel more settled. The moving truck arrived just this last Thursday (the 10th) and we just got our phone and internet today. Thank you so much for your prayers and support. It is so good knowing that people where praying on both sides and inbetween on our trip. We are also thankful we have at least connected in a small way with people here already through this blog. We pray that continues to grow into a sweet fellowship and powerful catalyst of God's Kingdom. We look forward to connecting in with a fellowship and getting to know you better. In Christ, Kory

There you are!

Hey guys!  So glad I found you on here, even if by blog.  :)  I'd love to catch up with you.  Great to see God is working in your lives.
